FAQs

Will i get eaten by an alligator?

No, you won't be eaten by an alligator! If you see one, consider yourself lucky – it means you're among the few humans that haven't made them question their choices. Alligators prefer to hide in the water rather than engage socially. You could be having fun kayaking, and the alligator might just glide away, thinking, “Not today, human.” Unless you’re a glowing "Snack for Scales," you're safe. Alligators want to relax in their swampy world, so enjoy nature while admiring their beauty from afar!

Will i get wet?

Of course you will get wet, because kayaking is a water sport! How much you get wet can range from a gentle splash on your feet to an unexpected swim when your kayak decides to playfully toss you in for a drink. Think of it as nature’s way of giving you a refreshing surprise! Most likely, you’ll only get your feet wet while hopping in and out of our sit-in kayaks, designed with a lip to keep you from becoming a full-fledged fish. But hey, if you do take an unexpected dip, just remember: it's all part of the adventure! Splash on, brave kayaker!

is there somewhere to use the bathroom?

Before your adventure, please note the importance of restroom timing. Each tour location has bathroom facilities, so take advantage before going on the water. Once paddling, finding a secluded spot is challenging, and jumping into the water is not ideal for answering nature's call. Visit the facilities beforehand; your fellow kayakers will thank you!

can we bring our own drinks & snacks?

For all our tours, we provide small snacks such as chips, fruit, and granola bars. During our night tour, we also offer items for s'mores and brats for roasting over the fire. Our guide carries extra water; however, we emphasize our commitment to eco-friendliness by requesting that you bring your own reusable water bottle. You are welcome to bring any extra snacks or food, as well as drinks you prefer. Please note that, as a family-friendly company, we do not allow any form of alcohol on our tours and will turn away anyone who appears to be intoxicated.

IS there an age requirement?

All ages are welcome! Parents should decide if a tour is suitable for their child. Just remember, if your little one is under 12, they'll need to ride in a double with an adult. For kids aged 13 and up, the choice is yours. Just be aware that in a single kayak, your child will have to paddle themselves, which could turn into a mini workout, especially if the wind decides to join the fun. Think of it as a real-life adventure, or perhaps a new way to tire them out! If you're feeling uncertain about what's best for your kiddo, give us a call. We're here to help you navigate the waters of decision-making!

can persons with disabilities participate?

Yes! At Black Manta Kayak Club we are dedicated to accommodating all individuals, as we believe kayaking should be accessible for everyone. Safety is our top priority, and we remind participants that an unexpected dip in the water can happen. While we leave it up to personal discretion, we encourage everyone to keep safety in mind. If you have any questions or require special accommodations, please give us a call! We are happy to assist in finding ways for those with disabilities to join our adventures.

is there a cancellation policy?

Black Manta Kayak Club has a 48-hour cancellation policy. Detailed information regarding cancellations and reservation changes can be found in the additional terms associated with each specific tour. As a small business, we must adhere to this policy, which means that cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled tour will not be eligible for a refund. We understand that unexpected emergencies can occur, so please feel free to reach out to us if you find you need to cancel your reservation.
